Balance

“The state of having your weight spread equally so that you do not fall.”… That is the definition I found for balance off google. Having a good balance does not always mean you can stand on one foot for a minute without shaking or falling. This can be meant for your life and mental health as well. My mom inspired me for this post because she always stresses the importance of working hard but making time for yourself and fun as well. “Work hard, play hard”

We see people say all the time, “I can’t eat that I’m on a diet” or, “I’m too busy to have a night out”. You’re always going to have more “important” things you could be doing and maybe healthier options. But whoever said you can’t have both? I’ve recently entered a new mind set that this is who I am, my body is mine, and I deserve happiness in all parts of my life. Sometimes Taco Bell is the key to that happiness. Instead of shaming myself for eating a Crunch wrap supreme, the next day I will choose to cook a healthy meal. It’s all about balance. We need to stop criticizing ourselves for things that sometimes make us happy even if it’s small.

Feeling bad for yourself after not exercising or not eating the best is not going to change anything. Those thoughts are just going to pick away at your mental health and that’s when you lose yourself. Finding your balance may take time and believe me when I say you will lose yourself once and a while, but getting back on track will be much easier. Distribute your weight equally, you won’t fall and you have the chance at being happier.
