Mental illness is finally being recognized all across the world as an actual illness and we love to see it! One thing that I have realized though is that going to therapy is not praised as much as we need it to be. Now, I have been in a constant fight with my mental health for years and my mom always pressed me about going to therapy, and still does. The crazy thing is that I agree with her! I firmly believe that therapy can be quite beneficial to many people. Whether you are the happiest person in the world or not, going to someone and talking about anything and everything on your mind, and also knowing that the information being told will be confidential can really ease one’s mind.

Therapy is not for everyone and being someone that is very introverted, it can be really hard to spill all your demons out to a complete stranger. I still tried it though and I urge you to try if you haven’t. Honestly, I believe that it’s all about finding the right person as if you were looking for a partner. Finding a therapist that you trust and is truly helpful can be difficult but when you find the right fit, this might be the right choice for you. Therapy offers emotional support, reduces stress and anxiety, helps you find a purpose, helps release your emotions and helps you get a true handle on those emotions, etc. The list goes on and on about the benefits of therapy. As a society, people still feel shame or judgement for going to therapy when there is no reason to. It is normal and it is healthy!
